Can't seem to configure mailbox to be in-place hold, why?

This is using MS Exchange 2013 server. In ECP, when I tried to configured one mailbox to be in-place hold or Ligitation, the following error messages appear:

Unable to execute the task. Reason: The discovery mailbox, a hidden default mailbox that is required to search mailboxes, can't be found. It may have been inadvertently deleted. This mailbox must be re-created before you can search mailboxes.

I run "get-user -arbitration", and won't see any system mailbox. What should I do to be able to configure in-place for any mailbox.

Thanks in advance.

You can ues the steps on the TechNet site to re-create the Discovery Mailbox. Then try to put the mailbox in-place hold again.

Hi Will,

According to Technet, does it means that I have to run "setup /prepareAD" again? Does this has any affection on my existing AD?
Will SzymkowskiSenior Solution ArchitectCommented:
Your AD is already preparded. This will just re-create the appropriate objects that are missing.

Ok sounds good.

Thanks Will for the suggested article and also the command "setup /preparead". It works like a charm, and after that command, 3 system mailboxes were created. Apply the command to enable the required mailbox as arbitration. After that, I make the required mailbox under ligitation without problem.
