We have Backup Exec 12.5 backing up to a SAN, and it is not overwriting the media that is marked for overwrite. It is giving us an 'Attempt to write past the end of the media has failed.' error. Hoping for some help figuring out how we have misconfigured things.<br />

The 'Overwrite Protection Until' field in the media library says Overwritable.<br />

In options, under Job Defaults -&gt; Backup, Media overwrite protection is set to 'Append to media, overwrite if no appendable media is available'<br />

We have backups with different protection periods ranging from 15 days to 4 months. In options, under Device and Media, the Media set is set to Keep Data Infinitely. I don't know what to set this to because of our varying ranges of protection periods. The individual jobs have their own Device and Media settings reflecting what we want them to do.<br />

In Media Management, it is set to 'Overwrite recyclable media contained in the targeted media set before overwriting scratch media'<br />

Also, I cannot right click and delete the overwritable media.
