Windows 10 Upgrade Question

I am using Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.

Where and how do I get the .ISO image of Windows 10 from Microsoft? They're saying that it's a free update, even if you're using a pirated copy of Windows 7. I don't want to "Upgrade using there logo at the bottom right side of the screen".

Where's the ,ISO link from Microsoft? I can't find it and what product key do people use if they're using a pirated copy of Windows 7?

I'm looking for the FULL RELEASE on July 29th 2015. NO BETAS.

Hi unipolarbear,

With Windows 10, although nongenuine PCs may be able to upgrade to Windows 10, the upgrade will not change the genuine state of the license. Nongenuine Windows is not published by Microsoft. It is not properly licensed, or supported by Microsoft or a trusted partner. If a device was considered nongenuine or mislicensed prior to the upgrade, that device will continue to be considered nongenuine or mislicensed after the upgrade.

The fastest way to get the upgrade is to download the ISO

The Official Final Windows 10 download is now available

Use the download tool to create ISO media to update your windows.

Where are the ISO links from Microsoft?

So if you're upgrading from a pirated Windows 7 the Windows 10 will also be considered pirated?

How is one suppose to do a fresh install without a serial number? Even though Microsoft claims that it's a free upgrade to pirated copies as well?

So basically if your are running a pirated version of Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 you will have the ability to update the software to Windows 10 but will not have a legitimate copy of the software.

Actually from what Ia have read it that you must be a genuine legal copy to upgraded with a legal license and EE is all about doing stuff legal and with legit licenses. Even though you may be able to upgrade you will still have an illegal version of Windows. Right now you can get Windows 8.1 about $100 so do that instead. http://www.cnet.com/news/windows-10-pirated-upgrades-will-still-be-considered-pirated/

@ TAPAN PATTANAIK

I want to do a clean fresh install of Windows 10 for a friend.

We found out that his Windows 7 wasn't genuine.

If I want to do a clean fresh install of Windows 10, during the install, what serial number do I enter to get it installed and activated?

What if there's no serial number provided with the pirated Windows 7?

@nobus

Just put in the Product ID as the serial when installing Windows 10?

In the middle of the Product ID it has xxxxx-OEM-xxxxxxx-xxxxxx

Include OEM when putting the serial?

Will this Product ID also activate Windows 10?

@unipolarbear

We cannot help you or your friend steal software (which is what you're doing when you run pirated software).  If your friend has a pirated version, he needs to BUY a legal version and install that.  Entering the Product ID is NOT the same as a product key and will not work.

Someone at Microsoft apparently made an initial announcement that pirated versions would be upgraded, but subsequently retracted that shortly after.  Bottom line, EVEN IF you read something weeks or months ago/old that said it would be, Microsoft changed their policy and it's not.  Go buy a copy and you shouldn't have a problem.

Show me where with proof that Microsoft retracted saying they're not allowing non-genuine copies to be upgraded.

I'm sure your familiar with Google:
https://www.google.com/search?q=Windows+10+genuine+free&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

From my first page of search results, three widely known web sites reporting:
https://redmondmag.com/blogs/the-schwartz-report/2015/03/free-windows-10-upgrades-for-pirates.aspx
http://www.pcworld.com/article/2899877/windows-10-upgrades-will-remain-non-genuine-for-pirates-microsoft-says.html
http://www.zdnet.com/article/microsoft-reiterates-no-windows-10-free-upgrade-for-non-genuine-users/

Finally, Experts-Exchange has NEVER PERMITTED experts to support pirated versions of software.  Bottom line - you may not like this answer - We cannot help you continue to use a CLEARLY admitted pirated version of Windows, new or old.  Upgrading to 10 does not give you a license for 10.

AFAIK you need to upgrade from a prior Windows release first to be able to install fresh, and till yesterday there was no detail published about how to accomplish the latter,  so it might be just a rumor.
