Exchange SP1 to SP3 2008 SP1 on a 2012 Doman

Hi,

Any issues with upgrading Exchange 2010 SP1 to SP3 running on a W2008 SP1 VM in a WIndows 2012 Active Directory?

Thanks,
Chris

The exchange update to SP3 will only work if all the MS updates have been done. Also it's best to do a full backup of exchange before the update. I normally run Best Practices as well and clear any outstanding items.

Exchange 2010 SP3 will work on a 2008 (assume you mean R2?) SP1 server and is fine in a 2012 AD domain.

You do not need to install all exchange updates before SP3 as it is cumulative so you can go directly to SP3 then install CU10

I don't think I am being clear. The Exchange server is on 2008R2 but we upgraded the domain controller to 2012.   I am wondering if that can cause an issue being that I don't have a 2008 level DC  but am running 2012 level AD.
