I have a Samsung NP540U3C-A03UB Ultrabook with HDMI output, and two LG 29UM57-PE Ultra Wide 29 1/2 inch monitors, what I would like to extend my desktop to both, and close the lid on the Ultrabook. When I purchased the monitors, I was told all I had to do is go from the hdmi port on the laptop, to hdmi1 on the first monitor, then go from hdmi2 on the first monitor to hdmi1 on the second monitor, and they would be recognized. This is not the case. I would like to know if this is possible at all using this method, if not, is there a device I could purchase to make it possible. Thank you.<br />

Using Dual HMDI Monitors with a Samsung Ultrabook

A monitor or a display is an electronic visual display for computers, usually comprised of the display device, circuitry, casing, and power supply. The display device in modern monitors is typically a thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) thin panel, while older monitors used a cathode ray tube (CRT) about as deep as the screen size. They are connected to the computer via VGA, DVI, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt, LVDS or other proprietary connectors and signals.

Displays / Monitors

A laptop or notebook is a portable personal computer with a clamshell form factor, suitable for mobile use. Although originally there was a distinction between laptops and notebooks, the former being bigger and heavier than the latter, there is often no longer any difference. Laptops are commonly used in a variety of settings, such as at work, in education, and for personal multimedia. Personal computers may be connected to a local area network (LAN), either by a cable or a wireless connection, and through that to the Internet. A personal computer may be a laptop computer or a desktop computer running an operating system such as Windows, Linux or Macintosh OS.

Components are those devices that are internal to a computer -- the PC boards, the central processor (CPU), the memory (RAM), disk and video controllers and so on.
