Vb.net Convert text field to HTML

Like the current screen where you type your question
Is there something in Vb.net that you can type a message and then convert it to HTML to email so the
string doesn't email as 1 line eg

Hello Member name
This is an email to wish you happy
birthday and give you the attached $10.00 voucher

Regards

This is stored in a table as 1 line of text

Hello Member name This is an email to wish you happy birthday and give you the attached $10.00 voucher. Regards

I want to store it as eg

</h1>Hello Member name <br />This is an email to wish you happy <br />birthday  and give you the attached $10.00 voucher. <br /><br />Regards

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

ASSUMING that this data is in a <FORM> and connected to an action, the newline character is passed on to the form handler--- thus you would be able to replace "\n" with "<br>" on the action side.

<OBJECT>.Replace(Environment.NewLine, "<br/>")

Thanks Its on a form in a multiline text box

Text box called mBodyEmail

After entering the above text when saved in save function I added
mBodyEmail.text.replace(Environment.newline, "<br/>") it made no change to the field in the table

Replace "text"  with "value" and make it equal to the replacement

 mBodyEmail.value = mBodyEmail.value.Replace(...)
