VSA cluster entering maintenance mode problem

We have a VSA cluster running with 2 servers We need to properly shut it down, but we noticed on the second server that the raid 5 is broken (2 out of 3 disks are damaged). Because of that the VSA is degraded, shows server 2 as offline and refuses to enter maintenance mode.

Is there a way to properly shutdown sever 1? Putting the first server separately in maintenance mode through the VSA Manager does not work, as it gives the warning it would make the cluster unavailable.

server 2 is offline and you want to put server 1 into maintenance mode? That will definitely make the cluster unavailable since it cant't fail over to an offline node. .. Fix server 2 and once it is online then you can put server 1 into maintenance mode

ASKER

That's the thing. We can't do this right now (long story). The company is shutting down their power for the entire day in 2 days. The UPS won't hold it that long.

So we are afraid not shutting down the server properly would make it even worse when booting it up the next day.
