DS3400 Drive died, won't rebuild array to newly inserted drive
Hi,
Last week we had a drive die in our now out of warranty DS3400, it's in a raid 6 configuration and the hot spare is currently in use. we went up to the DC and switched the drive out of the DS3400 usually after a few minutes/hours depending how picky it's going to be the copy back starts. However this time it didn't we let it go all weekend hoping it would start the rebuild. normally I would call IBM and have them force the rebuild but as I said it is out of warranty and we will not be getting a renewal. I am also using this until we find a viable replacement.
is there anyway I can tell the storage array to rebuild the array to the freshly inserted disk? all firmwares are up to date.
