How can I fix a sound issue in Win 7?

I have checked the speaker´s cables, driver, tried with an external speaker via the 3.5 audio jack but nothing works. It seems on the icon tray that volume is working fine but no sound at all.

Have you checked in control panel the settings for sound...maybe it "sees" the wrong sound output

Usually if the volume slider shows active sound,  the problem is the speakers, amp or something that direction.      

Are the speakers powered?  If so, if you turn the volume way up and touch the end of the jack with your finger, do you get a buzz/static sound?  (if you do then the speakers are good)

Also, are you plugged into the right port?  Most new systems have a light green output port color.

You need to check driver for sound may be you have outdated driver of sound if its looks like that all cable, driver and sound system is find them may be problem in your sound setting.  In windows 7 you need to open RealTek Audio setting navigate to Control panel-->> Hardware and Sound-->> Realtek HD Audio Manager In advanced option set as default and check if sound is muted here. First try to reset default setting and restart PC hope it will be works for you

look if my checklist helps :
-check if the device is enabled in the bios
-in device manager, check if the card is installed without errors
-look if there are driver updates available, and install them
-if needed, install / uninstall the  UAA HD Audio Bus driver    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888111
-start>run>services.msc  and check if the Windows Audio service started and set to automatic?
        then, from Device Manager>view   click "show hidden devices" , now  right click your sound devices, and select Uninstall.
        Reboot, and cancel the wizard to reinstall
        Install your latest drivers, and reboot to complete the install......
-in the audio and sound applet>audio tab check if the sound card is selected
-in the volume section, check if the sound is turned up enough, and NOT muted
-in the audio and sound applet>sounds tab select the start windows sound, and check if you can play it
-check if the speakers are connected to the proper sound output (green)
-test the speakers on another PC

of course, if the sound device is bad - it won't work, but you can test that by running from the live Knoppix cd - you should hear the welcome sound : ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/dist/knoppix/KNOPPIX_V6.4.4CD-2011-01-30-EN.iso

Hi,
maybe you have a switch button on your audio system to switch from main to aux (auxiliary) and you push that Involuntarily.. Just a shot in the dark here.

Is this a PC or a laptop?  If it's a PC are you using the onboard sound or a sound card?  Try either switching sound cards or inserting one and install the proper drivers.

Could be a hardware issue.
