Website analytics

Hi,

Being that now Google Analytic doesn't provide any useful information anymore because of all the security they've added (hiding keyword information). Are there alternative services to google analyltics that provide more useful information? Paying or not...?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Google shows barely any keyword information in Google Analytics. The majority of this information is now encrypted and not passed through any longer, so there is really no other analytic system that will give you more detail. Search Console offers a bit more data than GA, but it's still very thin. If you are looking for keyword data beyond what is shown in GA & SC, you'll want to start looking at Adwords, where you're able to view what keywords trigger your ads and track those back to conversions.

However, even in Adwords, the exact keyword phrases, typed by the visitor, are not revealed 100% to you as an advertiser.

Hi FCapo,

I am also researching web analytic tools and I am going to start with Google Analytic first.  However, here are two others that I've found with good reviews:

https://chartbeat.com/

http://www.crazyegg.com/

Hope that helps.

I thought they had migrated this into Google Webmaster tools?

Hi FCapo,
Agree with you.  Nowaday, all the paid-related-keywords already categorized as "Not provided" in the tracked keywords result. However, you may able to unlock these "not provided" category somehow https://blog.kissmetrics.com/unlock-keyword-not-provided/.

You may try alternative tool - Piwik. It's open source tracking tool close to GA rich-features. The important thing is 100% FREE ownership on your own. Check it out http://piwik.org/
