I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You already know tools or command you needed. Personally, I don't see any tool requirement for Domain upgrade. Max I use inbuilt command like repadmin /replsum. Still if you need a tool, you can check this one

I agree, you already know what to use.

Check events for errors/warnings and make sure AD/DFS/FRS are replicating ok with events, dcdiag and replmon.

if all looks good you should be OK to look at the upgrade of your DCs, assuming you've checked all your software/hardware is compatible etc.
