Change address from sender when you resend to a distribution group

Hi Everyone,
Im working with Exchange 2007 SP1 and Outlook for clients.
I received a petition to create a  address  where diferent external email adress send information anmd we want to distribute by a distribution groupo to our users.
The problem is they want to change the  sender address  to a local adress like " research@local.com" and not "external@hotmail.com" for example when the users receive a copy of this email via distribution group.

Anybody receive a petition like this before? is possible to  make this without Powershell?

Thanks in advance

Best Regards

Make a new user mailbox (I'm assuming research).
Log into this mailbox (either outlook or OWA).
Make new rules:
option a:
Forward to user1
Forward to user2
Forward to user3 etc
option b: forward to distribution group (probably another new one, call it research-distributiongroup, which contains user1, user2, user3 etc).

Because it's a FORWARD rule (don't use REDIRECT), user1 etc WILL get the mail from research@
Users will have to read the email to know from who it was originally.

Hi Kimputer,

Thnaks for the quickly answer.

But if for example external users send a email to list_research@domain.com  with only one user with mailbox (research@domain.com ) and in properties  i check Forwading   to a diferent user ( adhominem@domain.com for example) i'm still see the original external sender and  not the new one from my domain.

And is mandatory to make it inside the mailbox of the user and not by rule in Server?

You are telling me it doesn't work because you are explaining a different procedure. I already know it doesn't work with your procedure, that's why I carefully wrote my procedure. Follow the procedure step by step. You'll see that it works.

Hi Kimputer,

I Tried the procedure how you explain me and add a rule in the outlook profile, when only works when i make check the option Run Now This Rule.
If i left the rule created and activated in the  research's profile  but when i send a test email, the users in the distribution group still receive the email with the original sender .

Thanks for your help

It's very illogical for a rule to work when you press "Run this rule now", but NOT work after you log off. Is it possible you take a screenshot of the "rules and alerts" window?
Or otherwise, check if the rule is in OWA (and take screenshot).

Hi Kimputer.

Yes i  thought the same, wehy the rukle change sender only if i  check Run this rule now and I found if i close the Outlook for this profile "researchtest"  the rule stop to work .
Unfortunaly my OWA version doesnt support Rules in the webpage

Rules will appear in your browser if you use IE to log into OWA.
