Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You can easily set this up so that everyone shares a single user/pass.  Once they go to access the directory, a user/pass prompt will open that they'll need to satisfy with credentials.

In general, if you're hosting via Apache, you'd use the htpasswd utility to set this up.

Before going too far down that path, are you using CPanel? If so, you can use their GUI to password protect directories.

These are not necessarily the most secure paths, but they are simple starting points.

It's a GoDaddy site. It has Cpanel, that option is not available.

Are you inferring that using .htaccess passwords is difficult?
Richard KortsBusiness Owner / Chief DeveloperAuthor Commented:
To access the directory, the users just types a url at the browser address line; they probably all have them set as bookmarks.

To add to this question:

I have the need for MULTIPLE users of .htpasswd.

I need the ability for a non tech user to edit them & delete entries.

The Apache documentation on this is horrific; Can someone show me a SIMPLE example of creating a .htpasswd file with MULTIPLE users?

And not have to do it on the server knowing all the directory structure.
