Event ID: 1000 Vmware tools [warning] [vmusr:hgfsd] Setting HFGS Server capability failed.

I have a vdi environment that gets this error in event log:
event id: 1000 VMware tools
[warning]  [vmusr:hgfsd] Setting HFGS Server capability failed.

Is the a setting change in advance for all these vms?

I have hundreds so I need a script

is it this option?  isolation.tools.hgfsServerSet.disable

Need error to go away

We do not have HGFS option on the classic image; however if I modify registry and add HGFS to this Value in ProviderOrder – error disappear

PICANetwork,RDPNP,LanmanWorkstation,webclient

But is there a way to fix inside vm advance settings, without mod of registry?

One of the articles suggested to disable HGFS future ( that it can cause VMs disconnects)

this is not good.

Usually we do not use a Complete Install of VMware Tools, we use a Typical, and do not select this option to be installed!

It has always been an issue! (if you do a complete install).

So you can do a Remove/Modify and just uninstall this feature

Simplify Active Directory Administration

Administration of Active Directory does not have to be hard.  Too often what should be a simple task is made more difficult than it needs to be.The solution?  Hyena from SystemTools Software.  With ease-of-use as well as powerful importing and bulk updating capabilities.

Is there a way to remove this option in mass?

Should have been done as part of your golden master, or at least picked up on testing.

Recompose the master image.

I've not seen or worked on any scripts to remove an MSI component in mass.

On mass modifications would be Registry or VMX entry. We would remove the component on recommendation, it's always been an issue, and it's a throwback to VMware Workstation, shared folders is not even used in vSphere, so it's additional fud, which does not need to be loaded.

isolation.tools.hgfsServerSet.disable = TRUE

if you set his variable, it will also disable auto upgrade of VMware Tools.
