Restoring Files from Differential Backup when Full Backup is gone

Hello All,

My branch company was recently hit with CryptoWall and alot of our files in our networked drive folder  were corrupted, which is housed on a server in our Main branch. When they went to restore the backup files they realized they did not have a full backup copy of our folder just the differentials. The backups were made with Backup Exec, but I'm not sure which version. They say they can't restore the differentials without the full back, but I was wondering can you do a full backup now and then restore the old differentials to it? Or is there some software or can a script be used to get the files from the differential backup? This way we can see if we can replace the corrupted files with the old files and build from there. Not sure we can do anything, but we don't want to pay to restore them. Thanks.

Sorry, it's not possible.  You need the original FULL backup to restore from because it contain catalog files as well as related dataset in sync with the DIFFERENTIAL backups that you have.

The DIFFERENTIAL backups that you have are the deltas (difference) from when the FULL and DIFFERENTIAL backup was made.  If you create a FULL backup now, it will be out of sync.

I figured that is the case but was desperate to hope not. So is there a script or software I can use to get files from the differential backups or is that not an option as well?
Sorry JamEast, I am afraid not.
