I had been using LocateMyDroid for several years, but it stopped working. In looking for an alternate solution, I found this thread, tried Ariana's recommendation, and it worked perfectly — have been using it ever since (not a Samsung phone).
Scott's and csstad2's posts hit within one minute of each other and are great for Samsung owners, which the OP is. Scott's link is still good, csstad2's isn't, but the front part of his link, which is the same as Scott's, works fine: https://findmymobile.samsung.com
Also, Jackie's comment is an excellent one!
For these reasons, I think an EE member with the same problem that I had would be well-served to find this solution in the PAQ. Even though it is nearly two years old, the recommended solutions are still good, and I suggest that Scott's post be the Accepted Solution, with the posts by cwstad2, Ariana, and Jackie as Assisted Solutions. I recommend an even split of points — 125 for each of the following:
