Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer

I downloaded and installed Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer. When I attempt to scan for patch updates, I am getting a message that indicates that my domain is invalid.  Does anyone know why this would occur?  I can ping my domain and the name is resolved. Any recommendations?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

From what I have read. When you enter a domain name the MBSA tool will try to connect to your domain master browser to enumerate the computers in the domain. So it can only scan devices that have registered there with the "Computer Browser" service.
Normally the AD Domain Controller with PDC role will act as a master browser.

I dropped the fully qualified domain name and that worked.

Thank you.

I had the impression that your goal was to scan via domain name.
This solution is more or less in the interface text:
"Enter the domain OR the range of IP-addresses"
Anyway, good that it's ok now.
