Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 advertises TLS 1.0 in Client Hello

I am trying to get Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 to connect using Outlook Anywhere with TLS 1.1 or TLS 1.2.

I am unable to get Outlook to advertise any protocol higher than TLS 1.0 in the client hello handshake. I have tried the SCHANNEL protocol registry entries and also the check boxes available in Internet Explorer Advanced settings but no luck.

However the same version of Outlook, 14.0.7153.5000, works fine on Windows 8.1 and correctly advertises TLS 1.2 in the client hello handshake.

Does anybody know if there is a way to get this working on Windows 7 please?

Maybe this will help. You currently need Windows 8.1 to connect MAPI clients

Protocol       TLS v1.1/1.2 Minimum Requirements

SMTP       Exchange 2013 CU8 or Exchange 2010 SP3 RU9

POP/IMAP       Exchange 2016 Preview

HTTP (server)

Windows 2008 R2;

MAPI clients must run Windows 8.1 or later

HTTP (proxy to MBX)       Exchange 2016 Preview
