The value violates the MaxLength limit of this column

Hi,

I have an app connected to my access database, I have many text fields per form each with a 255 character limit, recently many users have been adding text that's longet than 255, which causes an error in the app and they loose all the changes they've made.

Other than converting everything to MEMO, I'm wondering if there's a simple way to prevent this error?

Thank you

other than checking the length and warning or truncating at 254 characters you'd have to add error handling

If your users input the data through a TextBox, simply set its MaxLength property to 255 and they won't be able to type more characters than that.
