How to play .wav files on mobile device with app

For the last few years I have used the following code to play .wav files:

        Dim OBJ As New win32
        Dim STR As String
        STR = New String("\My Documents\siren.wav")
        OBJ.PlaySoundW(STR, 0, OBJ.SND_ASYNC)

This is on a mobile device, the Motorola 9190 handheld scanner, running Windows CE 6.0.

Now we've had to upgrade to the new 9200 model, which has "Windows CE 7.0 embedded", and the .wav files don't play when I use this same code.  Siren.wav is definitely located in \My Documents like always, and if I get out of the app and browse to |My Documents and click on it, Windows Media player pops up and plays it just fine.

I'm using Visual Studio 2008, and compact framework 3.5.1.  Does anyone know what code I can use to make the .wav files play?  TIA

Yes, Windows Media player is playing it on a speaker.  Some of their earlier models had only a beeper, but this new model definitely has a speaker.

If this were a desktop app, there would probably be plenty of ways to tell to play a sound.  But in this compact framework environment, I can't find a way to play it.  I think the code shown above may be "old school", but it worked just fine on the CE6 model.  Now it doesn't work at all on this new CE7 device--although I don't now that the operating system has anything to do with it.

I'm hoping someone familiar with the compact framework environment knows of a command I can use to play a .wav file.

Looks like a problem with the sound settings on the scanner.  I think the old code is going to work OK after all.
