Office 365 migration tool

Hi, I'm looking into a solution to migrate to Office 365 from on premise Exchange 2013. I have around 100 mailboxes on 4 databases for a total of around 1Tb(hope to get it trimmed before migration). Should I just buy a tool like Skykick in order to eliminate errors or it is not worth it for this scenario.

Thanks!

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

That's totally up to you. Tools like Skykick's can make the process painless for both the admin and the end user, as they offer automatic Outlook configuration and such, but the downside is they come with a price tag.

You can of course go for the MS methods, described here: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj863291(v=exchg.150).aspx

In your case, doing a Hybrid might be an overkill, and it will certainly be more complex than using the tool. Cutover is always an option, and it's very easy to perform, but the end user experience will suffer.

Hi

Depends on what you are looking for. If you are just looking at tools fro migration www.migrationwiz.com is very good. As Vasil mentions the MS method can work well too https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj863291%28v=exchg.150%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

Are you planning to migrate over a weekend (i.e. all users & mailboxes) or over a period of time (i.e. subets)?

Thanks
Mark
