RDS 2012 r2 with F5 Load balancers
Hi All;
I created a pilot RDS 2012 R2 environment with 5 servers. we are using F5 for load balancing.
We have the Webaccess and the GW in the DMZ, and the CB, SH and Licensing servers on the internal LAN
We have 2 firewalls, External, DMZ, Internal, as well as 2 External F5, and 2 Internal.
RDS is working fine, but I have a question, We have a VIP for the SH and another VIP for the CB, when I connect internally or externally, I see that the traffic is going to the CB VIP and then to the SH server's IP address instead of the SH VIP!
Is this a normal behavior? Shouldn't the connection go to the CB VIP and then to the SH VIP and then the F5 should forward the request to the SH server's IP?
Please advise.
Thanks you.

Thank you for your reply. So lets say that I have a CB farm, SH farm, Webaccess farm and a GW farm, both the WA & GW farms are in the DMZ, and the rest are internal. I believe that I will need a VIP for each farm for load balancing purposes on the F5, correct?
Thank you.
