determine create date for a DB2 LUW Table

is there a way to determine the date a table was created in db2 LUW V 9.7?

That would depend on the database.

At your version (9.7), IBM added the column "ALTER_TIME" to syscat.tables.  It doesn't track the creation date, but it does record the last DDL change to the table.  If your table was created under version 9.7 and the structure has not changed, "ALTER_TIME" will contain the timestamp value when the table was created.

Since the column ALTER_TIME did not exist prior to release 9.7, if your table was created on an older version of DB2 there is no way to determine the creation date from the database.
