Seperating Admin Roles

So I wanted to put this out here more as a polling question.  I am planning on changing the different admin position that we have in our I.T. department with different administrative roles.  My predecessor, had everyone as full admin on everything.  I feel that help desk and engineers should not have the same admin roles to protect the help desk from making changes that could effect the overall network.  Points will be shared to all that participate knowledgeable.

What are you thoughts on this?

I setup our Helpdesk so they can only reset password and join computers to the domain. I just info in the link below to
delegate these permissions.

only the IT Director and I SysAdmin are members of the Domain Admins/Enterprise Admins Groups.

I use powershell scripts that enforce just-enough-admin JEA principles. This gives the helpers just enough privileges to do their job and NO more.

How big is your staff, will they have cross duty roles?  I always encourage the philosophy of minimum required access do their job, but in really small IT shops this can be mixed.  You may also consider not having helpdesk as server admins but desktop admins for end user support
