Fixing 'printer offline' message without restarting ..
Occasionally.. Some of our computers on wifi (and even wired) will not print. Windows states printer is offline but if I restart the PC it works fine.
Is there a way to correct this without restarting? Restarting the print spoiler service does not fix this.

Even thought the printer has the correct driver, I would remove the Printer, uninstall (delete) the driver (Drivers Tab, Printer Server Management), shut down, start up and install the printer again and test.
Printers should not go offline, so consider the printer driver as I have outlined.

I will try it on Monday and reply, thank you.
check also the energy settings for it - they may be set to turn off of ter some minutes
another possibility is the Wifi signal strength - if it drops too low - the printer goes offline

My HP 8610 is wired (I do not recommend wireless attached printers if you can avoid it), and it "goes to sleep", it never goes offline. Likewise with my client printers. They always take time to warm up, but they do not go offline.
mine is always powered off -unless i need it
that takes care of all my problems
