If you are on a domain, you can join the workstation to the domain, then create an admin account before the last step.

i cannot get into the computer to do anything, domain administrator pw not working, local admin not working. and yes this is a domain workstation. basically i need a way to reset the password

Pogostick (http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/) is popularly used to reset the account password for the local user

Hi NVIT, i tried pogostick but got this error C:\Users\xxxxxx.xxxxxx>E:syslinux.exe -ma E:
Not a removable drive (use -f to override)

i didn't have time to fool with it so i did some more googling and a post said to unplug from the network then try to log in and it worked like a charm. Thank you for your help
