Upgrading to vCenter6.0

So Guys,

Currently SSO and Web are on their own VMs and Inventory/vCenter are on one Vm combined.

How would the upgrade process work, my understanding is that:

SSO would be migrated to an external Platform Services controller on that same VM

and then the rest would be installed on the vCenter VM? As everything else gets combined together with vCenter.

So I would run the upgrade on the SSO VM first and let it finish and upgrade everything, then I would simply run the install again on the vCenter VM and let it upgrade everything and once complete I would delete my old Web VM?

It depends on how large your installation, is if it warrants a dedicated Platform Service Controller, you can install it separate or together.

What size environment do you have?

Do you need a separate VM for your infrastructure, if you do, complete as you have stated.

You can see the process here in this EE Article I wrote

ASKER

I am sure I posted an update last night urghh!

The environment has about 50 hosts currently, does it warrant an external SSO? Probably not, but is that what they have...yes!

So let me just confirm Andrew:

SSO VM will become the PSC VM (external deployment)

Web VM will be deprecated as it is no longer need.

vCenter VM will now include Web/Inventory in .0 as there is no way to install these desperately
