Why do these fields shift down?

Head out to http://brucegust.com/portfolio/verizon/index_static.php and take a look at the date fields beneath "event list." When you click on them, the calendar pops up, but the fields slip on top of one another (see graphic).

Looks tacky.

How can I fix that?

Thanks!

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I'm not going to be of much help unfortunately. I tried in Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer 11. Cannot re-create the problem. That's all I have access to at the moment.

you have a statement  " min-width:450px" on the left
which may be stuffing the IE display.
as I suspect it clashes with the right column " width:50%; min-width:764px"
try changing these 2   to complement each other

actually looking at the code you don't have a container class around the left and the right columns
like:

<div class="container">
  <div class="leftcolumn">
blah blah blah
</div>  -----end left
<div class="rightcolumn">
blah blah blah
</div> --- end right
</div>  ---- end container
and define the container class like:

.container {
      width: 100%;
      max-width: 1260px;
}
