Dell 1720dn Printer on Win 7 does not recognize tray 2

Hello Experts, I have a client who has 5 Dell 1720dn printers.  they are pretty robust printers but the latest driver they have is for Vista on the web site.  When I install the printer via this driver it does not recognize tray 2 of the printer.  Anyone know how to get Win 7 to recognize tray 1 and tray 2?

Did you try this driver?

http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=R149581

It was released in 2011 and Windows 7 release in 2009.

The driver says it is for Windows 7.

Yes, I downloaded that version and tried it.

Let me be a little more specific.  The printer works "normally" with this driver.

When I to into the preferences of the printer or when trying to print from an application it does not allow to select Tray 2, it is greyed out.

There is an additional tray on the printer in addition to the basic model which as tray 1 and a manual feed.

With many printers you need to tell the driver which options (trays, duplexer, etc) are installed. In that case you should find a "Device Options" tab or similar in Printer Properties, to enable the tray. Have you checked that?

Sorry for not responding sooner.  I thought I had already accepted your answer.

The Install option provided the option to add the paper tray. After I did that I was able to configure the printer exactly how we wanted it to work.  Thank you!
