Black Screen after Windows 10 upgrade.

Dell Inspiron 17 7000 series with the Windows 10 upgrade applied.  After the Dell logo on the startup screen disappears the screen stays black and there is no cursor visible.  System restore to previous restore date has failed.  Any suggestions?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Boot into safe mode--hit the F8 key repeatedly once BIOS is seen (i.e. just before Windows starts)--from menu boot into safe mode--if you can get in uninstall your video drivers (what video card/drivers are you using?); then reboot and see if you can boot up then.
