Running Totals in Group Header

I have a debtors statement that is grouped by a field called STMTGROUP and totals transactions within that group fine. I now want to have that total appear in a Summary Grid in the Group Header but don't know how to.

What do you mean by a summary grid?

If you are using a running total to calculate it, it can't be done since the running total is calculated as the report is printed so the total isn't available until the group is complete.

Can you use a summary function on the field?
RIght click it
Set it for SUM
Put it in the GROUP FOOTER
Click OK

Drag it to the group header

Sorry the Summary Amount is to go in the Page Header not the group header
Same problem if it is a running total.

DO you want summary of what is on the page or overall?

I have attached a pdf copy of the Crystal Report.  You will see 2 groups the running total in each group will be a summary line in the Header section. There is a box on the right side.

Looks like you can use simple (rather than "running") totals.  So simply insert a CrossTab.
If you are referring to the box under the tenant statement then you should be able to generate that with summary functions

To get the Rent Account Balance Credit
Add a formula
Name - Rent and Payment
If {Description Field} = 'CPAY Receipt'  then
    {Receipts Field}
Else if {Description Field} = 'Rent Charge' then
     {Charges Field}

Create another formula (assumes there is a group on contact id.  If not then replace contact id field with the group field for the tenant).
Name - Sum Rent and Payment
Sum({@Rent and Payment},{Contact ID Field})

You can create similar formulas for things like Non-Rent, Water, Other

The overall total is the sum of the individual totals or just the sum of the charges and payments
