"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

have never had to do that, but you might try HP Solution Center.  I believe it should be on the media provided by HP for your printer.  here s the FAQ:

Thanks for your response, however, we need to find this info for a 100+ HP printers, was hoping there is a way to centrally extract this information, your response implies to the media associated to a particular/single printer? Having to do this for a 100+ printers is too tedious,

thank you both for your response, I've emailed the client requesting this information that this will require abit of effort, as in it's current state we can't provide this information, possibly with the help of a 3rd party tool we could achieve this,
We have around 100+ HP printers nationally, and we have 19 international branches, and we'd need extract this information from each of the branches to ascertain what out there,
I was hoping our procurement teams who purchases these items will have kept accurate records,
but it appears not to be the case, we manage the printer queues from a Wintel perspective, not the reporting side
Software like HP Web JetAdmin and Xerox CentreWare Web can find all networked printers (i.e. those connected with their own network interface, not USB connected to a server) on your network, and generate reports with information about them. This information can include the installation date of the printer.
