server 2008 enterprise to server 2008 r2 upgrade/migration

I have a windows server 2008 enterprise (not R2).   Is it possible to migrate this server to 2008 enterprise R2 with out a lot of issues?   We are having some issues with features that R2 provides that we currently don't have.   Also, windows 10 and windows 8 will join a R2 domain without locking out APPS which is currently one of our main issues.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It's more of an upgrade than a migration.  As long as you have x64 hardware it should be fairly easy.

These are the supported upgrade paths:

Here is the 2008 R2 upgrade guide from MS.
