What packages are commonly used from the redhat EPEL repository

I just found some cool things in the Redhat EPEL repository and was wondering what packages from the EPEL repo are popular ( and I should be more familiar with ).

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Are we talking Fedora EPEL or some new unannounced RedHat software channel?

From first most popular is called "epel release", and given they use mirrors, even fedora themselves have no idea what is being installed.

Sorry - you mean assembly line in a factory, or like webserver and java server?
Unless server has some purpose to serve you dont need any packages. E.g. you can use chrony NTP client that does not imply running NTP server like ntpd on RHEL6 on par with RHEL7 defaults.
So - Do you want RHEL6 or RHEL7 advice ;)

Great solution, I bet it works well with Docker and redhat 7 systemctl commands also

it is a good openstack solution also

It works on any redhat/centos, for example one can get wordpress or drupal with security being followed from EPEL, or some perl or php modules not in main distribution.
