ospf default-information originate

I have a config on a Cisco router with BGP redistributed in OSPF (see below) and I'd like to know what default-information originate metric-type 1 means.

router ospf 100
 redistribute bgp 65306 subnets route-map MY_REDISTRIBUTION
 network area 0
 default-information originate metric-type 1

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

default-information originate - is command to advertise the default route to neighboring OSPF routers
metric type 1 means that metric will be changed across the network (and it will be marked as E1 type), while metric type 2 would mean that metric will NOT be changed across the network (and it will be marked as E2 type).

In the case that two routers advertize default route, and one route is E1 and second is E2 - E1 type route is preferred over E2 type.

So the default router is something like "network next_hop". Correct?
So is it like redistribute my default route into my OSPF process?
Yes on both counts. :)
Default route
ip route <next-hop>
like redistribute that route into OSPF process.
