ospf default-information originate

I have a config on a Cisco router with BGP redistributed in OSPF (see below) and I'd like to know what default-information originate metric-type 1 means.

router ospf 100
 router-id 1.1.1.1
 redistribute bgp 65306 subnets route-map MY_REDISTRIBUTION
 network 192.168.0.0 0.0.255.255 area 0
 default-information originate metric-type 1

So the default router is something like "network 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 next_hop". Correct?
So is it like redistribute my default route into my OSPF process?
