Microsoft Office 365 and Unattended Mailboxes, Autoresponders

What is the best way in MS Office 365 to setup an unattended mailbox with an autoresponder ?  For example, if an employee leaves an organization a type of email account or some configuration setting should still be in place for that terminated employee's previous email account - but the email account in place should:  1)  not actually receive the incoming email but rather just reject or delete it, ,  and 2) a custom Autoresponder message should be sent to the sender stating that the person whose email account was being sent to is no longer with the organization and the sender should instead contact a different person within the organization.   So basically the functionality should be similar to the basic OOO or out of office autoresponder but not actually receive the email (it is important that the emails are not actually received, so for example simply deleting the emails from the mailbox periodically is not a good option) ...

I think you can do this with Automatic reply as well, there is a rule option where you can create a rule that if mail is coming from anyone send automatic reply and delete that e-mail as well.

An Outlook rule (server side) is going to be your best bet, or a transport rule. The reason for this is because the Out of Office assistant will only send a single Out of Office response, even if the user emails in multiple times per day.

In order to achieve what you are looking, you need 3rd party tool like Mail Marshal. I did this on-premises for 5000 users, when they migrated to another company. User were getting email as well as, sender getting message stating to contact new address.

Office 365, I don't think provide such options.
