AIX imprtvg question

Hello,

We need to import VG, before imprt I have  question.  If the VG name is already in disk,  if  we do "importvg -y hdiskx"  it suppose to pull the VG name right? but it is coming with avg.  Is avg default VG name?

You can do importvg with the -y option and specify the volume group name you want. If you don't specify it, the system picks the next vg name. For example:

importvg -y myvg hdisk01

It's a little confusing

"importvg -y hdiskx" is not right, -y option is to give a name to your VG.

Also, is this name is already used you can not import it with the same name.  You should

"importvg -y YOUR_NEW_NAME hdiskx"
