windows 8 laptop will not let me login, says passowrd incorrect?

i was doing some cleaning up of some adware, was trying to boot into safe mode, so went to msconfig and set to startup in safe mode. when it restarted and came to the login, i entered password, and it says its incorrect....?
also, i notice on the lower left side internet connection, its says no internet available.

having no internet is normal in safe mode  .. you need to use safe mode with networking.. safe mode usually uses the administers account.  I would NEVER use msconfig to configure safe mode.

reboot and keep hitting the f8 key and try other options when they appear

f8 isnt doing anything just keeps bringing me to the login screen? with the no internet access red flag in the corner

Make sure the keyboard layout is correct when you login. You should see the layout at the bottom right corner on the login screen, and should be able to change it if necessary. Also check whether CAPS Lock and Numlock is set. On many laptops you don't have a separate number pad and when numlock is set to on some of the normal alphabet characters on the keyboard are changed to number keys.

so i tried a few things, however i needed to order another cdrom (windows ) for this system, and then i can use the cd rom to do the password utilities, i hope.
thanks for the help, ill follow up in 5-6 days when cd rom arrives.
