Migration of Exchange 2003 Public Folders to Office 365

Hi

I am moving a Exchange 2003 Server to Office 365 Enterprise E3

This is actually my own server well over due migration

I have a heap of Distribution Groups / Public Folders that i use for various things which heaps of email address on them

My question is

Am i better to use Shared Mail Boxes for this these or Public Folders in Office 365

Also what is the best way of getting a List of all the public folders and there email address from Exchange 2003

Thanks Adam

You cannot migrate Public folder from 2003 to office 365 directly. You have following options:

1) Install Exchange 2010 as a temp server and migrate from 2003 to 2010 on-premises. Then from 2010 to office 365.
2) Export to PST and merge the data.
3) Don't use public folder, start using SharePoint for document sharing.

Apart from above, there are 3rd party tools like from Quest. You can check those also.

simply export to a pst file all your public folders, save that file on a server then from another machine that has a outlook software connected to your O365, open the pst file and copy the content to o365 public folders to get in more details have a look on this earlier discussed thread having suggested solutions to accomplish this task: Exchange 2003 Public folders to O365  https://community.office365.com/en-us/f/685/t/357770
