Hi Experts
I am running updates to linked servers on WAN.  Is there anyway to handle a linked server being offline by using something like error resume next.  Currently I am calling two stored procedures to run the updates in SQL
Your help is much appreciated.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Since MSSQL 2005 a TRY CATCH is available to manage error handling, see https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms175976.aspx . You need to enclose each of propbably failing commands in a TRY CATCH block, and parts which are independent into different ones.

Many thanks for this.  I will play with it in the future - looks like it will do what i wanted.  I have used VBA to solve the issue in the meantime
