"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

What browser? What version of Windows? I can probably help you when I know those answers, but it's the wee hours for me, so this is my last post today. I'll check back in with you first thing in my morning. Regards, Joe

I believe if you open Acrobat, and go into Preferences, you will find under the "Internet" section an group of options labelled "Web Browser Options".   Under that group, there will be something along the lines of "Display PDF files in browser".   Turning that off should take care of it.

Here are the steps in IE11:

Tools
Internet Options
Programs
Manage add-ons
Toolbars and Extensions
In the Show drop-down at the bottom select All add-ons

You should see Adobe PDF Reader (or Acrobat) in there. It will say Enabled now, which is why your PDFs are showing in IE11. Select that entry and in the lower right, click the Disable button. Now you should get an Open/Save choice instead of having the PDF automatically load in IE11. Regards, Joe

Click on the link to the .pdf.  Chose "Open With".  You should be offered Acrobat or PDF Reader.  Click on that.
