When go into the HP CMC right click the volume and click edit its says 6.5 tb, how may terabytes is 500mb and then should i add to the 6.5?

is there anything else I need to do on the windows side after i finish editing.

1 Tera = 1024 Giga = 1048576 Mega.
By the same calculation,
500 Mega = 0.48828125 Giga = 0.000476837158203125 Tera.

That said, most of the times, when people speak about 500 Mega they mean 512 (as in half of one Giga) so if you actually adding 512 Mb, You need to add 0.00048828125 Tera.

Hope that helps amd that I understood the question correctly.

thank you, therefore to increase 6.5 tb by 500mb, the results would be 6.5004882812 tb, is the calculcation correct?

I'm afraid you took the value of 512 mb.
if you wish to increase the space specifically by 500 mb, then the correct value would be:
6.500476837158203125 tb.

if you waish to add 512 mb which is what usually done, then the value would be:
6.50048828125 tb.

my apologies i need to increase it by 500gb, not 500mb, whats the correct calculation of for this?

No problem.
500 gb = 0.48828125 tb
So in total, the drive should be 6.98828125

Or, if you can add 512 gb, it's simply 0.5 tb and then the total size would be 7tb.
