Bootstrap data-dismiss in VB

I've like to close a bootstrap modal from VB code after an button click event.  Does anyone know how to do this?

<asp:Button ID="Button4" runat="server" Text="Close Window" CssClass="btn btn-default" data-dismiss="modal" />

Open in new window

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You can't "close" an HTML modal from code behind - you have to do it from javascript within the browser.

What you have to do is link some javascript to your button click and have that close the window.

Using JQuery something like this
<script type="text/javascript">
$(function() {
  $('#<%= Button4.Clientid%>').click(function() {
    $('#MODALWINDOWID').modal('hide');
  });
});
</script>

Open in new window

Replace the MODALWINDOWID with the ID of your modal window.
