SharePoint 2013 search webpart - query suggestions

Hi there,

on my Portal Website I have a search webpart which has query suggestions (incl. people search) activated. But unfortunately, while typing it shows not only the proper users, it also shows usernames that are no longer present in Active Directory. The specific users are not found in AD, nor can they be used to set permissions in SharePoint. Where the hell is SharePoint finding those entries? I tried to reset the query suggestions, but the how-to's found don't get me any solution. Because there were no entries found.

The database table MSSQLogSearchCounts is there and there are entries which match my problem names.

Any hint?

I imagine they're coming from your User Information List.

Append _catalogs/users/simple.aspx to the end of your Site Collection url to see that list.

ASKER

I will check that. Thanks for the fast reply.
Okay, after checking the UIL this isn't the problem :( The specific user's are not present in that list.

That's what I thought, so I tried to reset the Index, made a full crawl (Continous Crawl is active as well)... but nope, the entries won't disappear...
