using cached mode Outlook 2013 and folder redirection in win 2008 r2

Hi

I am trying to use Outlook 2013 cached mode but there is an error that outlook couldn't start because it couldn't find C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\username@company.com.ost.

I am using using folder redirection on win 2008 r2 redirecting user and user profile , and outlook seemed not able to find the path of the redirected folder \\servername\users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\username@company.com.ost.

Can you please let me know whats the ideal / best practises for using outlook cached mode with folder redirection?

Try going into Control Panel, Mail, Show Profiles, Highlight profile in question, Properties, Data Files... Settings (depending on Outlook version), Advanced, Offline Folder File settings and check where the OST file is located.

If the OST file is still local (I know some group policies ignore certain file types for re-direction, such as PST) i.e. still in C:\Users\*Username of user*\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.ost then manually copy the OST file to the server directory \\servername\users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\username@company.com.ost and then browse to it within Offline Folder File settings. Close and re-open Outlook and it should how have the correct path.

Thanks.
