Unable to edit code behind during debug - visual web developer 2010 express edition

Hello Experts,

I had been using visual web developer 2008 express edition and I was able to edit code behind during debugging.

I am now using visual web developer 2010 express edition and I can not edit code behind during debugging.

I have edit/continue enabled.

I have looked around the web but I am unable to find a solution.

I would appreciate help.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi,

There are some suggestions here.

If you want my opinion, do not use Edit and Continue, because you may get unexpected behaviour. Better Stop/Edit/Compile etc. That of course is a very personal opinion and anyone can argue.

Thank you for your response. I believe I found the issue.

It seems there is a difference in creating a NEW PROJECT and creating a NEW WEBSITE when you start.

When I used create a NEW WEBSITE I was able to edit the code behind during debug. No so when I used create a NEW PROJECT.
