NFS hangs rendomly

Dear Experts,

I have RHEL 6.x and installed it as an NFS server. The NFS client is Windows 2008 R2. However, sometimes NFS service hangs in Linux without giving any error message.

The parameters are:

rw,relatime,vers=3,rsize=1048576,wsize=1048576,namlen=255,hard,proto=tcp,timeo=600,retrans=2,sec=sys,mountaddr=XXXXXXX,mountvers=3,mountport=38955,mountproto=udp,local_lock=none,addr=XXXXXXXX

Could you please help me?

Best Regards

I'm not saying it's the reason of the locks, but I'd start by either removing or changing the following:
mountproto=udp

Open in new window

to
mountproto=tcp

Open in new window

Because of this in the MAN:

   If any of the proto, udp, tcp, or mountproto options are specified more
       than once on the same mount command line, then the value of the  right-
       most instance of each of these options takes effect.

   Using NFS over UDP on high-speed links
       Using NFS over UDP on high-speed links such as Gigabit can cause silent
       data corruption.
