EXCHANGE 2010, ACTIVE DIRECTORY
I was doing analysis on my exchange relay server where Sometimes ldap query takes too long .
I ran process explorer and saw following:
I see high count on following.
1) Edgetransport.exe
2) MS Exchange transportlogsearch.exe
3) Microsoft.exchnage.monitor ing.exe
4) W3wp.exe-I have no idea why w3wp is running on relay server
Can this be a reason for high LDAP count

Yes, Exchange heavily depended on AD. When designing Exchange environment, make sure you have sufficient Domain controllers, which can take Exchange server load. This is one piece 95% admin doesn't consider, when installing Exchange servers. Best to have Exchange on different AD sites, with its own dedicated DC's.

I ran process explorer on one of my relay server and gave you an attachment as what processes and their handles
as we receive ldap query too high on this relay server sometimes
I am not turning on field engineering as of now but trying to giving preliminary report as these .exe can cause ldap query to be high sometimes.
just needed your opinion
