Google Drive issue

Problem:
When the user login in Google Drive and he tries to open all his excel spread sheet using Chrome browser. The spreadsheet opens but he cannot edit the document. If he use internet explored the problem doesn’t exist and he can open the excel spreadsheet and is able to edit it without any problem.
If he tries to open the same document form another computer he is also successful. I tried to reset to default completely the Chrome browser but it didn’t solve the problem.
Basically the menu in the excel document is gray out like is that user has no permission/rights to edit that document.
Have anyone seeing this issue before. How can I solve this issue please?

It seems to be a problem with the Chrome itself. You tested on IE as a troubleshoot, and it was the best way to evaluate the problem, nice one!

I would recommend to check for any disabled (or even corrupted) Chrome extension. Resetting the chrome only erases user's data (history, cookies, cache, etc). Try removing any recent installed extension, or even, run it on safe mode to see how it behaves. Worst case scenario, try to get a "Chrome Portable" (which does not require installation) and test the access using the instance.
