"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

try like:

Date dToday = new Date();
SimpleDateFormat ft1 = new SimpleDateFormat("dd/MM/yyyy");
String dBorrowDate = ft1.format(dToday);

Date d7Days = new Date(dToday.getTime() + (7 * 1000 * 60 * 60 * 24));
String dReturnDate = ft1.format(d7Days);

BorrowDate.setText(dBorrowDate);
ReturnDate.setText(dReturnDate);

Not a good idea to roll your own date maths. Not only is it unnecessary but it's error prone in more than one way. Try

        Calendar cal = Calendar.getInstance();
        SimpleDateFormat ft1 = new SimpleDateFormat("dd/MM/yyyy");
        String sBorrowDate = ft1.format(cal.getTime());

        cal.add(Calendar.DATE, 7);
        String sReturnDate = ft1.format(cal.getTime());

        borrowDate.setText(sBorrowDate);
        returnDate.setText(sReturnDate);
